I’m leaving this review to share my experience and hopefully encourage other pet owners to ask for appropriate testing before medication is given. I brought my dog, Nuggets, to this clinic because she was limping. She was given a painkiller without blood work being done beforehand, and I was charged approximately AED 2,000 for the visit and treatment. What is particularly upsetting to me is what happened afterward. Nuggets’ condition started deteriorating after receiving the painkiller. I became extremely concerned and repeatedly tried calling the clinic for help, but I could not get an answer. Because she was getting worse and I couldn’t reach them, I took her to an emergency veterinary hospital instead. It was there that further testing revealed that Nuggets had serious kidney disease, including kidney atrophy. I am not claiming that the painkiller caused her kidney condition, because I cannot medically establish that. My concern is that she already had a serious underlying kidney problem that we did not know about, yet a painkiller was administered without blood work first to assess her kidney function. Nuggets ultimately passed away. I will always wonder whether things could have been handled differently if her kidney condition had been identified during that first visit. For approximately AED 2,000, I expected more thorough investigation and, at the very least, to be able to reach the clinic when my dog’s condition deteriorated after treatment. I’m sharing this because this was my experience, and other pet owners deserve to know it. If your pet is being given medication especially when the underlying cause of their symptoms isn’t yet known please ask whether blood work should be done first.Posted on Google Zin JegxTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Common Symptoms of Kennel Cough in Dogs
The most recognisable symptom is a sudden, persistent cough that may sound dry, harsh or “honking.” Some owners may think their dog has something stuck in its throat.
Other possible symptoms include:
- Repeated coughing or gagging
- Retching after coughing
- Sneezing
- Runny nose
- Watery eyes
- Reduced energy
- Decreased appetite
- Mild fever
Some dogs remain active despite coughing, while puppies, older dogs and dogs with existing health conditions may become more unwell.
If your dog is already coughing, inform our veterinary team before visiting the clinic. Your dog may require an examination and treatment instead of immediate vaccination.
Timing Matters
Don't Wait Until the Day Before Boarding
Protection isn’t instant — timing depends on the vaccine used, your dog’s history, and your facility’s own policy.
Some facilities require kennel cough vaccination to be completed a specific number of days before arrival. Contact your boarding provider first, then bring their requirement to your veterinary appointment.
- Vaccine formulation used
- First dose vs. booster
- Previous vaccination history
- Boarding facility's requirement

">
❓ Is kennel cough vaccination mandatory in Dubai?
Requirements vary by facility. Many boarding kennels, daycare centres and grooming salons request proof before entry — check with your provider in advance.

">
❓ Can a vaccinated dog still catch kennel cough?
Yes. Several organisms can cause it and no vaccine covers every cause, but it can lower the risk and reduce severity.

">
❓ How soon before boarding should my dog be vaccinated?
It depends on the vaccine and your facility’s policy. Book early and confirm the exact requirement with your provider.

">
❓ Can puppies receive a kennel cough vaccine?
Certain products suit puppies, but minimum age depends on the vaccine used. Your vet will confirm the right timing.

">
❓ Does the vaccine treat an existing cough?
No. Vaccination is preventive only — a coughing dog needs a veterinary exam, not a vaccine.

❓ Will my dog need a booster?
